New blogs every Week

Wake up. Get up. No one is coming to save you.

At some point, you have to decide to show up for yourself. You have to push past your imperfections, stop seeking external validation, and let go of the fear of what others think. Whatever is holding you back—whether it’s your background, voice, appearance, or belief that you’re not ‘smart enough’—is all a lie. A lie that keeps you stuck.

We all second-guess ourselves. I do it all the time. I’ll accomplish something, and people will say, “Wow, this is amazing!” But in my mind, I’m thinking, “Are they serious? This isn’t that great.” But what’s not okay is letting that doubt kill your ideas before they begin.

## My Journey with Self-Doubt & Taking the First Step

Let me tell you a story. For the longest time, I believed tech wasn’t for me. I had always been a media person—someone who thrived in television and radio. I interned at a radio station, later became a co-host on *The Coven* (a show about women’s issues), and eventually worked in television.

I loved it, but here’s the thing about mainstream media—your voice is often restricted. There’s always a limit to how much you can say and how freely you can express yourself. So, I started bottling up my thoughts, journaling, and debating within myself, but never actually putting my voice out there.

Then came tech. I was told, “Why don’t you try project management? Why not business analysis?” But in my head, I kept thinking, “That’s not for me. I don’t do computers. I’m an art student.”

That’s how limiting beliefs work. They convince you that you’re incapable, and you believe it.

Until one day, I made one simple decision—I bought two courses on Udemy: a project management course and a Business Analysis course. That decision changed everything. Suddenly, things that once felt overwhelming started making sense. Fast-forward to today. I’m a Business Analyst, confident in my field, helping people prepare for interviews, supporting colleagues, and growing in ways I never imagined.

And all of this happened because I chose to show up for myself.

## Perfectionism is Killing Your Dreams

Even this blog, for example. I hesitated for years. I wanted the perfect name, the perfect font, the perfect colors. I kept wondering, “How do I structure my words? How do I want to sound?” I overthought everything until one day, I picked up my journal and wrote:

> “I’m starting a blog, and this is what it will be about.”

That was it. That was the beginning. And now, here we are.

## 2025: The Year My Mindset Shifted

In my first blog post, I discussed how 2024 wasn’t a great year for me. Things happened that I’ll share in due time. But I made a decision: 2025 would be different. I was going to be intentional about every aspect of my life—from when I woke up to when I went to bed.

One book that helped shift my mindset was *Atomic Habits*. This book made me realize how small, consistent actions shape everything. It showed me that most barriers aren’t real—they only exist in our minds.

## How to Start Showing Up for Yourself

If you’ve been holding back on something—whether it’s starting a new career, launching a creative project, speaking up more, or simply prioritizing yourself—here’s what you need to do:

– **Ditch Perfectionism:** Time will never be perfect. The people you admire today started from imperfection.

– **Cut Out Self-Doubt:** Even if you fail, what’s the worst that can happen? People will talk? Then what? You move on.

– **Make Small, Consistent Efforts:** Big changes don’t happen overnight. Start with daily ideas, daily effort, daily courage.

## Final Thoughts

Close your eyes for a second. Picture the life you want. Now, realize that no one will create that life for you. You have to take action.

People create their own ‘perfect time.’ People create their own ‘perfection.’ And you can, too.

So, have you been sitting on something for too long? Have you been waiting for the ‘right moment’? Let’s talk in the comments—because this year, we stop holding back.
